FOUNDER & LEADERSHIP

In India, a family business is more than an enterprise—it’s a promise. A promise to protect reputation, do the right thing, and build something that lasts beyond one generation. Traditional values like integrity, respect, responsibility, and service guide how we work, how we treat people, and how we make decisions.

PUNAM CHAND MITTAL

(1931–1984)

A self made entrepreneur from Rajasthan, he moved to North Bengal in 1946 and began his career in a private firm, later working as a defence contractor with the Indian Air Force. His diligence and leadership earned him a Gold Medal from the Army for outstanding performance during the 1971 war. In 1975, he established two PCC electric pole factories, setting PCM’s industrial trajectory. A committed social worker and patriot, he championed education and infrastructure in the Dooars region—supporting schools, bridges, and dams (e.g., Jaldhaka, Jalpaiguri). His integrity, foresight, and resolve continue to guide PCM’s ethos.
