PCM RAILONE successfully delivered the first installation of the proven RHEDA 2000® system on the Arabian Peninsula as part of the Etihad Tunnels project in the United Arab Emirates. This strategically important freight corridor provides the Gulf states with an alternative transport route in the event of disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz, strengthening regional logistics resilience.

For the project, PCM RAILONE installed 7,120 m of the RHEDA 2000® system, designed to support both heavy‑haul operations (36 t at 120 km/h) and high‑speed traffic (22.5 t at 200 km/h). Production of the required sleepers was carried out at PCM’s Ha’il plant in Saudi Arabia, with engineering support provided throughout planning and execution.

The project demonstrates how PCM’s wider group combines industrial manufacturing capacity with on‑site technical expertise to deliver durable, cost‑efficient rail infrastructure, even in demanding environments such as multi‑tunnel alignments.
