Located at Santinagar in Siliguri, This project is a joint venture with Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority and P. C. Mittal Memorial Trust where low cost houses were constructed for the poor people. 52 houses were constructed in this scheme and the beneficiary share cost was contributed by the PCM Memorial Trust. This project was inaugurated by Shri Ashok Bhattacharya, Honorable Minister of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Government of West Bengal. Most poor people are disadvantaged and endangered by the places and physical conditions in which they live. They experience precarious shelter, problems of overcrowding, sewage and pollution, seasonal exposure to the worst conditions, insecurity of person and property, remoteness, non-existent or inadequate infrastructure, including in terms of access to drinking water, and stigma. Poor housing reflects - and deepens - deprivation.
